Procedures in case of outage
Credit card purchase
Use the manual printer to make a credit card imprint on a credit card slip. The card imprint will be the proof of purchase.
If you do not have a manual printer, make sure to include on the slip:
- the credit card number (always 16 digits)
- the card's expiration date
- the client's name
- your merchant number
- your company's name
Call 1 (800) 361-8120 for a VISA Desjardins authorization number for each client purchase.
Have the client sign the VISA credit card slip (blue copy) and note the authorization number. Give the client their copy.
When the POS terminal is back in working order, enter each transaction under "deferred purchase." Then staple each slip signed by a client to the corresponding POS terminal slip. At the end of the day, close your batch as usual, but do not deposit
your POS terminal slips at the caisse since you already entered them when the POS terminal returned to working order.
