The Caisses populaires acadiennes donates $25,000 to the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital Foundation for their renal dialysis service

Moncton, November 28, 2006 – The Caisses populaires acadiennes has given $25,000 to the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Regional Hospital Renal Dialysis Service. This contribution is part of the $125,000 that the Caisses populaires acadiennes has pledged to give over a period of five years to improve the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Regional Hospital Renal Dialysis Service. Mr. Camille Thériault, President and CEO of the Mouvement des caisses populaires acadiennes, gave the fifth and last $25,000 contribution to Mr. Philippe DesRosiers, Chair of the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, and to Mr. Bertin Haché, General Manager of the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital Foundation.

This generous donation was made towards the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital Foundation Vision and Compassion campaign. With this amount, the Caisses populaires acadiennes commitment to the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital Renal Dialysis Service exceeds $137,000 over 5 years.

Mr. Bertin Haché, General Manager of the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital Foundation, made the following statement: “The financial support that we have received from the Caisses populaires acadiennes is a testament to how they value solidarity through action. It is with great pleasure that we accept this $25,000 donation to the Nephrology Centre and this money will contribute to the well-being of patients from all parts of New Brunswick. Thank you to the Mouvement des caisses populaires acadiennes and its 200,000 members.”

“In addition to our organization’s financial commitment over the past few years, it is important for us to know that we are making a difference when it comes to improving the quality of life for people with the courage to fight kidney disease. We are proud to be a part of the Mouvement and to contribute to the work done by the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital Nephrology Centre in the prevention, diagnosis and care of people in our province,” stated Camille Thériault, CEO of the Mouvement des caisses populaires acadiennes.

These funds will be invested and used to improve the quality of life for patients with kidney failure. The contribution made by the Caisses populaires in this health sector will allow a number of patients in the province to access quality care.
