The Caisses populaires acadiennes display their image on the VISA Classic credit card

Taking advantage of Cooperation Week, the Caisses populaires acadiennes unveiled today the poster image of the VISA Classic card. During a breakfast meeting with employees, Camille Thériault, CEO of the Mouvement, took the opportunity to highlight the merits of cooperation, and to unveil the new VISA Classic credit card.

This card, which is used by approximately 43,000 card holders throughout the Caisses populaires acadiennes network, usually displayed the image of their partner, Desjardins. Through an agreement negotiated between VISA and the two institutions, the VISA Classic card will now also display the Caisses populaires acadiennes logo.

"To us, this represents a lot more than just a name advertized for marketing purposes; the Caisses populaires acadiennes brand reinforces our identity, our history, as well as our co-operative and human values. This added value is the perfect example of our expertise and helps retain our members in a highly competitive financial market." says Camille Thériault, CEO of the Mouvement.

This VISA credit card is the first to display the Caisses populaires acadiennes image, and ongoing negotiations will hopefully extend this initiative to include credit cards offered throughout New Brunswick's network of credit unions, namely for Prestige cards.

A credit card is a practical and flexible method of payment because of the number of places where it is accepted worldwide and furthermore, there are no transaction fees. It is a safe and ideal tool, namely for travel reservations. In Canada alone, there are over 64 million credit cards in circulation right now, and 67,000 of those have been issued by one of the 31 Caisses populaires acadiennes.

With the VISA Classic card, there are no annual fees. You can also benefit from a 10% discount on Hertz car rentals worldwide. You can also manage your account through the online Accès D transactions service and benefit from the BONUSDOLLARS Rewards Program.
