On April 23 and 24, Edmundston will host the Caisse populaires acadiennes Annual Congress. This event will bring hundreds of representatives of the cooperative world in New Brunswick's Northwest region.
During the annual general meeting which will take place on Saturday, April 24, the Mouvement will unveil its 2009 financial results. During the Soirée Distinction held the previous evening, we will honour the employees entering the Club Quart de Siècle, consisting of those who have served the Mouvement for over 25 years. We will also be presenting the Mouvement's highest award, the Ordre du Mérite Coopératif Acadien.
The last time the Mouvement des caisses populaires acadiennes held its annual general meeting in the Edmundston region was in 2006. Last year, the Caraquet region hosted the event. The Mouvement des caisses populaires acadiennes exists since 1946. It is the largest Acadian financial institution in the Atlantic Provinces.
With its 200,000 members and global assets at more than $2.8 billion, this network of 25 caisses is represented by 82 business locations throughout New Brunswick. More than 1,200 employees and 350 democratically elected leaders are the strength of our organization.
